Volunteerism

If volunteering is important to you, then you are exploring the right community.  Both the Cedar Rapids and Iowa City communities have been ranked nationally  in the top 10 for their volunteer rates.  In the Corridor, volunteering can be a way to have fun, meet new friends, or grow relationships with co-workers.  Companies support employees in giving back by participation in United Way’s Day of Caring event, or Junior Achievements Volley for Education.  The best part of it all is that you are able to contribute and make a difference at a variety of non-profit organizations who are always looking for an extra hand.

The United Way of Johnson County and the United Way of East Central Iowa have partnered to create a website that helps connect volunteers with volunteer opportunities.  Visit the link on the right, or their website, CorridorVolunteers.org for more information.
